Visa On Arrival
Visa-on-arrival is available to citizens of most countries. However, applications are only accepted from countries listed in our application system.
Additional notes:
- Citizens of Southeast Asian countries do not require a visa for short visits to Vietnam.
- Nationals of Japan, South Korea, and Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden) may stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days without a visa.
- For stays exceeding the visa exemption period, you may apply for visa-on-arrival.
Once the approval letter has been issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department, the personal details listed—such as your name, gender, and date of birth—cannot be modified. If any information is incorrect or if your intended arrival date changes, you must submit a new application with updated information.
No. Purchasing a return or onward ticket is not mandatory when applying for a visa-on-arrival. However, you are required to provide an estimated arrival date on the application form. Please note that you may not enter Vietnam before the approved entry date specified in your approval letter.

Vietnam E-visa
Yes. Vietnam e-Visa holders may enter through any of the 42 officially designated entry ports, including international airports (e.g., Noi Bai in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang), land border checkpoints, and seaports.
Standard e-Visa processing generally takes 5–7 working days. During peak seasons or holidays, processing time may be longer. Applicants are advised to submit their application at least one week before their intended travel date.
Others
Yes. You may submit an application on behalf of a family member or relative. Ensure that all information entered matches the traveler’s passport and supporting documents. Once the approval letter is issued, forward it to the traveler for presentation upon arrival.
The standard maximum stay for visa-on-arrival is 30 days. If you wish to stay longer, you must apply for a visa extension while in Vietnam. Please contact a licensed travel or visa agency within the country to assist with the extension process, as it cannot be done independently.
